Hot Pot (At Home) Guide
A good friend of ours had never had hot pot before. We wanted to change that, but we were in the middle of the pandemic so we couldn’t go to a restaurant together. Instead, my wife and I decided to gift our friend a hot pot and create a simple guide to serve as an entry point.
Here’ s our guide to hot pot!
Hot pot was one of my favorite things to eat growing up, especially in the colder months (we actually referred to it as ‘shabu shabu’ growing up). I love the communal cooking experience and the delicious broth which only gets better as the meal goes on.
Here’s what you’ll need:
My wife and I hot pot at home using a small pot my sister-in-law gifted us, and this one available on Amazon is the one we gifted.
The Little Lamb soup packets mentioned in the hot pot guide are great.
For sauce, my wife and I are big fans of the Kewpie Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing, which can also be used as a delicious salad dressing or meat marinade. Talk about versatility.
These hot pot strainers are both fun and functional. Great for finding lost pieces of rice or fish cake in your broth!
Happy hot potting!
